BIO: SCOTT RICHARDS
Cleverly hidden behind the wall of Boston guitars and layered vocals is some of the most under-rated bass work ever recorded. Duplicating that is the unsung challenge of SMOKIN bassist Scott Richards. Add to that challenge the daunting task of singing vocal harmonies in intricate counterpoint to the busy bass parts and you have a gig that few bassists could manage. Scott attributes early classical training, songwriting and his years of progressive rock and fusion band experience with providing him the skills needed to make it all look easy.
Since joining SMOKIN' at the turn of the century, Scott has become quite the tribute journeyman having performed with the likes of the mighty Led Zepagain, Queen phenom Sheer Heart Attack, and the acclaimed Styx tribute Grand Illusion among several others. His keen ears and attention to detail help set the bar high for SMOKIN and have made him a valuable asset to all the tribute bands he's shared the stage with.
